Fished Sabine lake this morning until 10:30am when a thunder storm drove us off the lake.
The trout are going crazy on the lake.
I caught around 30 Speckled trout and some large sand trout mixed in using fly fishing tackle.
The Trout were eating #1 clousers in chartruse and olive dalburg divers.
When fishing the Dalburg the trout would explode out of the water from under the bait and fly clear of the surface a good 8 inches.
I also used spinning tackle and a D.O.A popping cork with a 1/8 oz lead head dressed with a bone diamond colored soft plastic about 2 1/2 foot under the cork with great success.
There were a lot of 14 inch trout caught but there were also some solid keepers mixed in with them.
It dosen't get much better than this.
Give me a call or email me if you want to catch a lot of fish, nows the time.
