Had high hopes of repeating yesterdays catch but they were lost in the fog.
I got to fish with Terry Roe and his wife Danita today. We had a very heavy fog this morning that lasted longer than yesterday. The bite is an early one and we couldn't see any feeding activity until later in the morning. We did manage 3 solid trout just as the fog started to lift but it was to late and the bite had quit. Later the birds started working the south end but we only caught under sized trout and one 5 lb. Black drum. We finally retreated to the river and tried to save the day. We did catch several U/S rat reds and one heavy 27" Red that would go 10 lb., this fish was a foot ball. We only had one Flounder to the boat today and it shook free before the net got it. We were still using DOA lead heads and glow/ chrt shad tails. We did catch the big Red on a pumpkin/chrt. Shad tail.
Terry and Danita are tuff fishermen and hung in there all day, never stopped casting and never complained. My hat is off to them for hanging tuff. Hopefully next time the fog won't show.
No pictures today.
Tight lines, Mike
