Finally got out on the water today and did some scouting in the marsh. The tide was exceptionally low as you can see in the picture. I saw several good pushes from fish in the shallows but I didn't actually see what type fish it was. I'm sure it was either Reds or Sheep's heads.

I was pleased to see several patches of under water grasses growing on a large flat. The whole area I was in has been changed by Hurricane Rita since the last time I got to enter this area.

There are lots of clumps of marsh grasses broken off with large clumps of mud attached pushed out onto the open flats. The cuts I use to get back into this area have a lot of silt that's filled it in some what,but it's still navigable with the gatortail motor and the BeaverTail skiff. When the tide comes back in to a normal level there shouldn't be any problem fishing the area.
