Sabine Lake fly and conventional tackle fishing reports & photos

6/29/2007 Well Jim Wilkerson and I finally got to give the Reds a shot this morning after having to cancel last week due to the weather. As luck would have it the rain and thunder storms fired off very early this morning. We had fished maybe an hour and had to run for cover due to a fast moving thunder storm. After it had passed we got back out on the flats and boated this healthy rat Red on a gold spoon fly. The water was much higher than the last time I was on the flats and the Reds just weren't showing them selves in the deeper water so we did a lot of blind casting today. As the day progressed the storms got more numerous and we called it a day around noon due to the heavy lightning working our way. Going to give it another shot tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will hold off and the fish will show.

Tight lines, Mike http://rectorsguideservice.com/
