Prospecting after work

Preston and I went scouting after work today. We were just looking for clean water and feeding activity in preparation for a guided trip Saturday. The 1st stop on the North end of the lake had 1 1/2 foot visibility and bait swimming along the grass lines. The predator fish were making them flash out of the water. A DOA shad tail under a DOA popping cork produced this nice slot Red that went 5 1/2 lb. on the Boga grip weigh scale on the 3rd cast. We had a few small Trout and lady fish bite also. We only fished a few minuets and headed on around the lake to check more conditions. The water started to get sandy near Willow bayou and only got worse the further South we ran. We crossed a big school of lady fish down towards Garrison ridge but couldn't get any Trout from under them? There is a big thunder storm passing over the extreme North end of the lake and the waves are getting ruff. We put on the slicker suits and headed home at 7:00pm.

Tight lines, Mike
