12/30/2007Finally got back on the water !The holidays are almost behind us. I did my turn working the on call spot through the Christmas holidays for Honeywell. I will still be on call new years eve and day then I'm free until Easter as far as holidays go. The rotation finally caught up with me but it's my turn in the barrel. The weather was nice this after noon when we got out of church so I rounded things up and headed for the lake to wade fish. I slid over the side of the boat at 2:oo pm. the water was 57 degrees with about 2 foot of visibility. I was fishing a Catch 5 in water from knee deep to about 4 foot. I saw one fish caught from a boat that was fishing deeper water that was further than I could cast. To make a long story short I never got the 1st strike. There was some bait in the area I was fishing but no predators except for a single Loon. I have caught Trout around Loons before but not this time. The tide wasn't moving much at all and wasn't predicted to fall until after 4:00pm, that's the time I called it quits and headed to the house. It was nice to get out for the 2 hours and enjoy the nice weather. The forecast doesn't look to good for the next few days. Hopefully it will be nice next week end.
Tight lines and happy new year, Mike
