4/20/2008--Preston is still the Bass Master

Later this evening after my initial post Preston noticed some feeding activity behind our house in the boat slip. He got out his fishing pole and tied on a 1/8 oz. beetle spin dressed with a sparkle beetle body. He told me he had noticed a ball of small shad near our boat ramp that had gotten pushed to the surface. Preston told me he remembered me telling him how feeding fish will round up bait and push them to the surface, apparently he does listen some times! Any way he matched the hatch and caught this small bass after the 1st cast. I came over to see what all the shouting was about and made a few cast with the sparkle beetle my self. I had one short strike but that was it. Preston rules with these small bass behind the house. Try as I might I only catch one on rare occasions. Hey, we did get fish on our hands today after all!
Tight lines, Mike
