I got to fish two party's this month so far. The house is almost complete and I'm ready to get back to fishing. The bite has been great the last month as the wind has laid down and the Trout and Reds are easy to find feeding on the surface. The catch to keep ratio isn't that great some times but there are some nice keepers mixed in with the small fish. Soft plastics under a popping cork is the only thing you need right now. Glow/Chartreuse D.O.A. shad tails on 1/4 lead heads are what's doing the best for me. When Carroll and Tom fished with me we had the privilege of seeing several Dolphins heading South from Pleasure island marina across the calm lake waters. It's kind of awe inspiring to see these beautiful creatures effortlessly move through the water column.
Don't forget the annual O.C.A.R.C tournament is coming up the 1st weekend in August. $25 gets you a shot at $250 for the biggest Red, Trout, and Bass. There are 3 paying places in most categories. CastAway has donated two nice graphite rods to be raffled off for $1 a chance during the event.
